Think Tank : Environmental Effects on Animals
This think tank project required our group to create a website and research on a particular
topic. We as a Think Tank would think of ways to solve this "problem". Our Think Tank, named Save
Our Society (SOS), strives to answer to the distress calls of today's rapidly changing world. After setting
up a weebly.com site and writing bios for each of our members, we researched on articles that would
reflect on our chosen topic: environmental effects on animals. After compiling the useful articles, we
created a Prezi (shown below) that we later presented to the class.
This project was important to me because I relearned the basics on what our actions on Earth does to harm animals, and newly learned other facts about the dangers we ultimately pose to animals. It was also meaningful to me because the effects of environmental problems on animals is something that everyone claims to know a bit about, but never attempt to thoroughly research upon. We all know the slogan "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!", but our knowledge barely scrapes the surface of this gradually growing problem on Earth.
This think tank project greatly impacted my learning. After completing it, I realized that animals are mostly being harmed because of human actions. Our society continues to try making a difference in saving the Earth, and stopping actions that are hurting the environment (and consequently, the human race), but it's clear that these actions are meaningless with each new generation. Among the massive amount of people on this Earth, there are handfuls that care about the environment enough to follow through on their principles AND teach their children / others about this issue. Therefore, I've concluded that the Earth is eventually going to fall under decline due to problems in the environment, no matter how much we try to slow and stop it. Learning to accept that humans are difficult to change has impacted my way of learning.
