Think Tank : Step Up Against Bullying
Once again, Save Our Society (SOS) has taken on an important issue and conjuring up solutions and ways to deal with it. The movement to step up against bullying starts with thorough research on what bullying is, why it occurs, who is involved, how to prevent bullying, and what can be done when bullying is happening. After compiling the information together, a Prezi is created and the video is filmed. For this Think Tank, our group moved to present to other students outside of the class. We visited two other classes and informed them of the deeper aspects of bullying. Each class of students signed a "No Bullying" pledge.
This project was important because it opened up an issue that some people seek to avoid. Bullying is a serious problem and there are others that don't realize how deadly the consequences can be. This was meaningful to me because while the news and media report how bullying has caused the death of another victim, I've never taken a long look at what bullying actually is. It is difficult for people to speak out against bullying, whether they are the victim, bully, or bystander, and in presenting this project, I hope to spread the message that people can actually provide help to stop bullying.
There were many other groups that had amazing Think Tank assignments and after completing this project, I have learned a lot through their project as well as my own. This project impacted the way I looked at things. When something happens, there is always more than one way to analyze it; there's another side to the story.
